African Prayers

22 September 2018

Late afternoon after two days of intense sessions of teachings the pastors returned to their different areas. Only those who had cycled from Mozambique stayed behind to leave early tomorrow. Sitting under the huge mango trees they ate their supper of nsjima (thick maize porridge) A strong wind blew when we went to sleep causing small mangoes to rain on my tent.
At one am I awoke to the sound of forty men praying to God. On my knees in my tent I stood with them in God’s throne room and praised God for His greatness and pleaded for the pastors and their people.
In my mind’s eye I saw God hearing their prayers, the golden bowl of incense filling up before the angels throw it out over the earth.
