May God heal the land
Monday morning came with gift of a spectacular view. Lush green vegetation and beautiful hills with huge boulders etched against the blue sky.
One boulder resembled a man bowed in prayer.
With typical village hospitality water was heated for us over an open fire and we took turns to bath in the outside reed enclosed “shower”
It was a short walk to the small church. Outside under a veranda constructed with poles & twine with grass bundles on top for shade sat about 100 pastors on reed mats and wooden benches. To the side in the sun set some women and children.
Everyone listened intently to Willem’s message. An interactive discussion followed with reverend Willem and pastor Mark answering questions.
Late afternoon we climbed the one hill to a place where the congregation sometimes go for prayer. Olga went all the way but high up with a breath taking view of Mozambique my legs suddenly became jello and I carefully descended.
Olga mentioned that at a level area they had knelt down in prayer asking God to heal the land and save its people.
